Q: Any specific publications that get under your skin?

Well, Rachelle Hruska of Guest of a Guest is a nasty piece of work — but I haven’t looked at that site in months, so I can’t say it’s annoying.
Huffington Post is remarkably ugly to look at and I find their commenters inane. But I admire Huffington’s hustle and Jonah Peretti has a fertile product imagination.

-Nick Denton [The Atlantic]

As I was reading this interview I was like “wow, this is really how I think and act. Even my day to day schedule is totally similar to his. You know what, in tomorrow’s reading list I’m def doing something crazy and just going to give Denton a major compliment. He’s right about the news cycle, it also drives me crazy. He’s onto something with his reading materials…and oh! I should start reading the Economist more. Wow I’m really liking this interview.” And then….the above line. “Nasty piece of work.” Gulp.

But oddly the first thing I did was smile and chuckle and then email it to the one man (smac) that can actually get away with calling me this (he can get away with this  bec he spends the most time with me and knows it’s 100% true). I’m totes taking as compliment.

Btw. Has anyone else noticed that if my reading lists were spread out each day they would basically be a condensed, more hip version of Gawker?
